MW girls took home team runner-up honors in the VHSL 3B Indoor Track Championship yesterday at Liberty University. Congratulations runners on a great season with a big finish!
Yesterday marked the end of the 20th VHSL season since the switch from 3 divisions to 6. The Maggie Walker Lady Green Dragons have taken home a state team trophy(1st or 2nd) in all 20 seasons (16 titles 4 runner-ups), as reported by Coach Ryan Webb.
Maggie Walker girls knocked off over 20 seconds of their season-best time to win the Class 3 girls 4×800 in 9:36 breaking a 25-year school record! Runners included Mimi Kemp (’21-Richmond), Kathleen Russo (’21-Chesterfield), Josie Greer (’20-Richmond), and Mary Caroline Heinen (’20-Richmond).
Congratulations also to Mary Caroline Heinen who added state titles #13 and #14 to her incredible career haul on Tuesday in the Class 3 girls 1600 and 3200!
