MW junior named 2023 Russian Scholar Laureate

Every year, the American Council of Teachers of Russian accepts nominations for the Russian Scholar Laureate Award. Of the thousands of high-school students taking Russian across the country, only a handful (about 30) earn this distinction annually.

Please join us in congratulating Will Knutson, a junior from Goochland, who has been named a 2023 Russian Scholar Laureate!

“This is a big deal,” said his teacher Michael White. “Will certainly deserved it. In two years of Russian study, he was a model of diligence and enthusiasm for the language and culture, blending innate linguistic talent with persistent hard work. Please join me in congratulating Will on this high honor.”
