Maggie Walker’s Emma Taylor, ’26-Chesterfield, was selected as a finalist in the 2025 High School Essay Contest for Japanese learners, organized by the Kobe College Cooperation Japan Education Exchange. Emma will travel to Kyoto, Japan, for four weeks this summer to participate in a homestay program and attend their language school. “Emma has been an outstanding student,” said Ms. Eshita. “Since her freshman year, she has expressed a strong interest in the Japanese language and culture. She is currently enrolled in Japanese 2 and plans to continue her studies in Japanese 3. I am confident that she will contribute meaningfully to the Japanese Program next school year by sharing what she has learned in Japan.”
