MW Speech Team at Regionals

Speech Regionals 2025

On February 15, 2025, the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Speech Team competed in the Regional Tournament at Brentsville District High School, accompanied by Erin MacPherson, sponsor. Our team came in 2nd in the Region!

Students placing in the top 3 of their categories will represent the region at Super-Regionals on March 1st at Lafayette High School. Students placing 4th in the category are alternates should the top three competitors no longer be able to attend. 

Vrinda Shah – 1st place in Extemporaneous Speaking

Emma Lindsey – 1st place in Impromptu Speaking

Akash Arun Kumar Soumya – 1st place in Original Oratory Speaking

Henry Erda – 2nd place in Original Oratory Speaking

ShanShan Liu – 3rd place in Storytelling

Lolu Nzombola – 1st place in Humorous Dramatic Interpretation

Jaymes Milston – 2nd place in Serious Dramatic Interpretation

Anushri Ramesh – 3rd place in Serious Dramatic Interpretation

Anoushka Anand – 3rd place in Poetry Interpretation

Maddy Radcliffe – 4th place in Poetry Interpretation

The team of Sanika Kumar & Claire Adcock – 2nd place in Serious Duo Dramatic Interpretation
