MW’s Virtual Graduation for the Class of 2020, June 3-4

The Class of 2020

Class of 2020Graduation will be held at MLWGS on June 3rd and June 4th.

“Today, more than ever, we are counting on our young people to become the leaders of tomorrow,” said Dr. Bob Lowerre, MLWGS Director.  “We are counting on you to take the reins of responsibility, to be creative, to find new solutions to both new and persistent problems, to repair the fractures that are so detrimental to our country, and to be the peacemakers.”

On their designated day, students and families will enter from the student parking lot, move to the auditorium, have his or her name called, and receive his or her diploma as they cross the stage.  A photographer will be present and the event will be recorded for a graduation video.  There will be one student with his or her family allowed in the auditorium at a time.  Students and families will be spaced out about 15 feet apart in the hallway.  Upon receiving the diploma, the student and family will exit the auditorium and leave the building down the main staircase on Lombardy Street.  Members of the faculty will be in the loop to cheer on our graduates.  The full graduation will be broadcast with speeches and performances on Monday, June 15th at 3:00 PM.  It is our intention to be able to provide this recording as well as our professionally produced program to our families as a keepsake.

Students with last names beginning with the letter “A” through the letter “L” will graduate on June 3rd. Students with last names beginning with the letter “M” through the letter “Z” will graduate on June 4th. They will start at 8:30 AM and end at about 3:40 PM each day. Each student may bring as many as four (4) guests to watch the conferring of the diploma.
