One-Act Plays at MLWGS, February 10-12

LIVE IN-PERSON THEATER returns to Maggie Walker with the premiere of the 2022 One-Act Plays! Directed (and in some cases even written) by MLWGS students, these four brief shows will offer you the kind of entertainment you’ve been craving since March of 2020. Admission is free, masks are required, and shows begin in the Black Box at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th, 11th, and 12th!

A Dollar
A stranded troupe of struggling actors stops for the night. Songs are sung, dances are danced, and nothing goes as planned. But what happens when a dollar appears on the forest floor?”

An Irish Engagement
Julia’s father has agreed to her marriage to a man neither have met. She and her true love plot how to get out of the arrangement with the help of the household’s servants. It might work, as long as the real intended doesn’t show up.

Resolved
Two high-school seniors face the hardships of being a same-sex couple, whether it is parental discrimination or societal expectations. And ask yourself as you watch: is everything really resolved in the end?

Old Lovers in Dressing Rooms
Rowan, consumed completely in his music, reconnects with his high school girlfriend. This challenges him to figure out what his priorities are and how to balance love and his career. We’ll see Rowan’s past relationships with both Sasha and music grow as we watch his present relationships crumble.
