Recognizing our school counselors during National School Counselors Week, Feb 3-7

National School Counselors Week 2025, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will take place from February 3rd to February 7th, 2025. The theme is: School Counseling: Helping Students Thrive.  National School Counselors Week aims to draw public attention to the unique role of school counselors in the US education system and to showcase how students benefit from their services.

This week provides an opportunity to acknowledge the significant contribution our school counselors make to support students in achieving academic success and planning for their future careers. It is a time to recognize the hard work of school counselors in implementing comprehensive school counseling programs that are essential in preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century.

The special week honoring school counselors provides recognition for school counselors who “implement comprehensive school counseling programs, a vital part of the educational process for all students as they meet the challenges of the 21st century,” according to Dr. Bob Lowerre, MLWGS Director.

We hope you will join us in recognizing our dedicated counselors Dr. Rachel Loving, Ms. Kimberly Forquer, Ms. Joy Cobb, Ms. Kelly Ndayizigiye, and Ms. Erin Ortiz.  Our counselors are assisted by Mr. Lucas Veale, Registrar.
