Spanish National Honor Society to host guest speaker at MLWGS on Friday

Mr. Jeffrey Hanna will be here as the special guest speaker of the Spanish National Honor Society on Friday, October 21st, and will focus his discussion primarily on the role of international languages in his professional life. Mr. Hanna currently works as a partner in a law firm, where he represents Spanish speakers in diverse matters. His story promises to be an interesting one, full of international connections (from Uruguay to Germany and Syria!) and unexpected twists and turns (Wall Street, the comedic stage, and beyond!). Instead of divulging all the juicy details here, I’ll just encourage those who are interested to attend.

Topics to share:

  • Is it possible to master a foreign language that you begin learning in high school?
  • Have you ever wondered where a language major can take you in life?
  • Or what it’s like to study abroad?
  • Is it okay to drastically change your career path?
  • How can you help others AND change lives while succeeding in your career, traveling, and broadening your horizons?

Want to hear a great life story that just might inspire YOU?

Come to the Forum during lunch on Friday, Oct. 21, for a special guest speaker who is also an MLWGS parent! Please contact Ms. Lemco with questions.

AY27 Snapshot #6: ‘Back to School’ success in a short week

Only at Maggie Walker could a four-day week have this much going on. Back to School Night is always one of my favorite events because it gives our teachers and families a chance to put names to faces. It was not that long ago that I was an MLWGS parent walking those same hallways, trying…
