Spirit Week starts Monday, October 14

Boys Vball Team 2019

Team Players under Dragon SignFun activities are planned Monday-Friday by the Student Council Association to celebrate Spirit Week including sporting events and class-level competitions which culminate in our fall pep rally and field day on Friday.

Theme dress-up days Monday-Friday: On all dress-up days and at all activities, students must adhere to the MLWGS dress code

  1. Monday, October 14:  Generations Day
  2. Tuesday, October 15:  Internet Culture Day
  3. Wednesday, October 16:  PJ Day (PSAT day!) 
  4. Thursday, October 17: Wacky Tacky 
  5. Friday, October 18:  Class Colors Day – Seniors wear black/blue, Juniors wear red, Sophomores wear white, and Freshmen wear orange.

Lip Sync Contest.  This will be held during lunch in the auditorium on Thursday, October 17.  Participants will be judged on lip-syncing, dance moves, dress, and creativity. 

Come out and support our teams! Games are scheduled on Monday, October 14 as follows: V Field Hockey @ 6:45 pm vs J.R. Tucker HS, JV Boys Volleyball @ 5:30 pm vs Monacan HS, and V Boys Volleyball @ 7:00 pm vs Monacan HS.  

The annual All-Girls PowderPuff Football game is taking place before the Homecoming game on Monday. It is free, fun, and a Maggie Walker tradition.

Carytown Burgers and Fries and RVA New York Style Food Trucks will be at the Field Hockey and Volleyball Games to provide food for purchase out by the chain-link fence parking area near the field. This event is the only time folks are allowed to take food into the gym.

All in all, a really exciting and fun week at MLWGS.
