The Thank a Teacher Art Contest is back

Thank a Teacher
The Thank a Teacher Art Contest is back, and the entry period is now open! The Virginia Lottery is now accepting art submissions from K-12 public school students.

In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, the Virginia Lottery generated a record-smashing $934 million in profit for K-12 public education. To remind Virginians of its important mission, the Lottery also supports and recognizes teachers and students through grassroots campaigns, such as Thank a Teacher and the Thank a Teacher Art Contest.

Now is the time for students to submit their artwork. The Virginia Lottery is looking for three students to have their artwork featured on thousands of thank-you notes to be distributed during Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

The contest is open to all K-12 students (not just art students!) enrolled in one of Virginia’s public schools. One top-prize winner will be selected from each level: elementary school, middle school, and high school. The three winners will see their artwork featured on the 2025 Virginia Lottery Thank a Teacher thank-you notes. They’ll also receive a $200 Visa® gift card and win $2,000 in supplies for their schools’ art departments from our valuable partners at The Supply Room.

Submissions will be accepted now through February 3, 2025. For more information about the Thank a Teacher Art Contest, including official rules, eligibility, and entry requirements, visit www.ThankaTeacherVA.com.

The next Thank a Teacher Art Contest winner may be someone we know!
