Virtual Regional School Board Meeting on Thursday, April 16, 2020

A VIRTUAL meeting of the Maggie Walker Governor’s School Regional Board with FY21 budget approval will be held on April 16, 2020, at 9:00 am. The platform to be used for this meeting is still under consideration and the public will be advised by Wednesday, April 15th.

The April packet can be viewed hereUPDATE: A listen-only option is available for the public at (605) 475-4000. Participants use Access Code 191682#

This meeting will be video recorded for public viewing.

It is critical to school operations to have an adopted budget, even one that may require amending in the future due to revenue shortfalls.  In the proposed FY21 budget, 71% of the revenue to fund our school operations comes from our participating divisions, while 26% comes from state revenue sources.

The Regional School Board and our leadership team will continue to work through some potentially tough budget decisions in the future. We will continue to focus on what matters most as we prioritize making decisions in the best interest of our students while maintaining our current level of benefits and pay for our dedicated workforce.

Persons wishing to address the Regional School Board during the public comment period can email remarks to the Board Clerk by 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 15th.
