The debate and forensics teams competed in the first District tournament of the Catholic Forensics League this past weekend. The V.C.F.L. is a speech and debate league under the auspices of the National Catholic Forensic League.

- In Student Congress Tejas Muthusamy (’21-Henrico) finished in 1st place and Owen McDonald (’23-Richmond) finished in 4th place.
- In Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Varun Mangdi (’21-Henrico) finished in 1st place and Aaksha Shah (’24-Henrico) finished in 3rd place.
- In Public Forum Debate Ethan Ringer (’21-Hanover) and John Staley (’21-Hanover) finished in 1st Place, Nived Sanjay (’23-Chesterfield) and Bruce Yanovitch (’23-Chesterfield) finished in 3rd and Diya Ram Mohan (’22-Chesterfield) and Sarah Townsend (’22-Richmond) finished in 4th Place.
In the forensics section of the tournament, Pooja Muthuraj (’22-Henrico) finished in 1st place in Original Oratory.
All of these individuals have now qualified for the State Championship tournament.
