Walker Way art contest for middle school students from participating divisions. Entries accepted through Feb 12

The Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Fine Arts Department is excited to announce an open call for entry for all middle school art students from our twelve participating school divisions. We invite all middle school art students to create a two-dimensional piece of artwork based on or representing one of the four pillars of the ‘Walker Way’: Courage, Compassion, Community, and Collaboration. The artwork can be made with any medium and can be any size.  There will be one winner in four categories, based on these four pillars.  Winners will receive a Plaza Art gift card, be featured on our Maggie Walker Art Club Instagram account, and will receive special placement in an online gallery for this virtual exhibition. Entries will be accepted through Feb. 12, 2021. Photographs of the artwork can be submitted by emailing them to [email protected]. Winners will be announced on Feb. 26, 2021 via our virtual opening of the online exhibition.
